After last year’s cancelled season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the kick-off of the SAS Fox Memorial Premiership Qualifiers this Saturday will be welcome news for rugby league fans across the country.

The 2021 first division starts with a bumper match between arch-rivals – and last year’s two top teams at the point of cancellation – Mt Albert and Pt Chevalier, a game which will be shown live on Sky Sport 4.

The Stormont Shield champion of champions trophy will be on the line too, adding to what is already an intriguing clash.

Later in the day there’s a west Auckland derby between Te Atatuand Glenora, Mangere East host neighbouring Otahuhu and 2019 premiers Howick take on Papakura.

The new-look Marist Saints play Richmond and Northcote travel to play Bay Roskill in the remaining matches.
