Porgera Souths have won the 2020 Lagaip Rugby League West Enga Nines tournament held as at Laiagam Station Oval.

The annual Nines tournament, which featured sixteen clubs from across the Lagaip-Porgera District in the Enga Province of Papua New Guinea will now move to the gold and silver mining community of Porgera as their reward for winning the event.

Originally started in April, the multi-day Nines event was delayed multiple times due to COVID-19 with the Final taking place on Christmas Day.

Moving forward the Lagaip Rugby League will keep the Nines as a Christmas / New Year’s event.
