The Vaitele West Tigers have secured top spot in the 2020 Vailima Rugby League Samoa Premier (Pool A) ladder after securing a 22 – 12 win over the Falelauniu Titans at the ACP Marist International Stadium in Lotopa.

The win ensures the Vaitele Wests Tigers have qualified for the competition Finals which kick off next week and a chance to take out the 2020 Rugby League Samoa Premier League title.

Commenting on the win to the Samoa Observer, West Tigers captain, McKenzie Junior Pisi, said he was extremely proud of his team’s effort.

“It was a great win,” he said.

“We thank Falelauniu for putting up a nice game and a tough one I shall say. We’ll enjoy the win but we still have a lot of work to do for next week.”

The Wests Tigers will face the Apia Barracudas in the first Semi Final next Wednesday. In the other matches played over the weekend, the Levi Eagles defeated Sonz Toouta in the Under 20s, whilst the Faleula Scorpions defeated the SCOPA Cowboys.
