The Philippines National Rugby League has named the Tamaraws squad that will face the Japanese Samurais this Saturday for the fourth Asian Cup.

The team features players predominantly from the Philippines National Rugby League domestic competitions, with only two heritage players included.

Taking place at Baler in Aurora, it will be the first time Japan has played for the regional trophy with past clashes involving Thailand.

The Philippines have won all three previous Asian Cup clashes, winning 86 – 0 in Thailand in 2012 before defending the trophy in 2013 (44 – 10) and 2017 (64 – 2).
