Rugby League Samoa has this week officially launched its Vailima Fantastic 4 Rugby League 9s series at Lotopa on the Island of Upolu.

The four teams, have been made up from the best domestic players from the Rugby League Samoa competition, and will play four Nines matches over five weeks in preparation for the upcoming Pacific Games in Apia this July.

The four teams will be joined by Samoan representative from Queensland and Auckland on the series finale on February 23 as Rugby League Samoa look to finalise their squad for the Games.

Rugby League Samoa is looking to build their Nines program with the island nation set to take part in three Nines tournaments over the next two years, including the World Nines in Sydney later this year, and a proposed event in April in 2020.
