The 2018/19 South African Rugby League Gauteng Rhino Cup Final will be an all-Tuks affair after both University of Pretoria teams qualified for the Regional Final.

One of the cornerstones of the Gauteng and South African Rugby League competitions, the University of Pretoria Tuks club traditionally enters two teams (Red and Blue) into the regional competition.

The result comes as a surprise after the Tuks clubs finished the regular season third and fourth, with the undefeated Elsburg Bears and Pretoria Bulls going into their respective finals as favourites.

In the 2nd V 3rd Semi Final, the Pretoria Bulls were defeated by the University of Pretoria Tuks Red team 44 – 24, whilst in the 1st V 4th Final, the Tuks Blue team ran out 44 – 26 winners

The Regional Final will be played on Saturday, January 26.

The 2018/19 South African Rugby League Gauteng competition featured seven teams including the Silverton Silverbacks, Elsburg Mustangs and Potch Dorp from Potchefstroom.

Saturday’s game will be the third time in South African Rugby League history both of the University of Pretoria clubs have met in the regional final.
