The São Paulo Saracens have emerged winners in Saturday’s historic Confederação Brasileira de Rugby League National League kick off.

The match, against Tatuapé Rugby League, was the first competitive game played in the South American nation and was the official kick off to the Confederação Brasileira de Rugby League season.

Played at the Saracens ground, the São Paulo side scored twelve tries to Tatuapé’s three as they ran out 62 – 16 winners.

Both teams will join Rio de Janeiro and São Lourenço in the Confederação Brasileira de Rugby League 13-a-side tournament in São Lourenço on October 27 / 28.
