The Confederação Brasileira de Rugby League this week has welcomed the formation of the São Paulo Saracens Bandeirantes Rugby League club.

The Saracens Bandeirantes club is the second São Paulo based sporting club to form a Rugby League team following Tatuapé earlier this year.

Based out of Ibirapuera in São Paulo, the Saracens Bandeirantes club is set to take part in the upcoming Brazilian National Championship in Rio de Janiero this October.

The two São Paulo clubs will be joined by sides from São Lourenço, Baixo Guandu and the capital in what will be the country’s first National Championship.

Players from the National Championship will be considered for the Brazilian Men’s and Women’s National teams.

The Women’s National team is set to take on Argentina in Curitiba on November 3 before the Men’s team hosts a Tri-Series against Argentina and Colombia on November 24.
