Following on from the most successful Rugby League World Cup campaign yet, a record 30 teams are set to take part in the opening round of the Tongan National Rugby League senior competitions this weekend.

The recently renamed Jason Taumalolo Cup will feature 16 clubs in the competition’s First Division, with another 14 to take part in the Second Division, all from the island of Tongatapu.

The opening round will see games played at Toloa, Vaini and Longolongo this Saturday.

The Jason Taumalolo Cup will run until May.
