The Nomades of Antofagasta are the inaugural Northern Chile Champions after defeating the Antofagasta Toros 48 – 16 in the regional Grand Final on the weekend.
Taking place at Estadio Juan Lopez, the Nomades were too strong for the newly formed Toros, running out convincing winners in the second half of the match.
The Nomades, who were formed less than six months ago, helped introduce Rugby League to the coastal city of Antofagasta.
Since their formation, four other clubs have since been formed within the city boundaries, including the Toros, Tiburones Mejillones, Grizzlies and Ngen Mapu.
