The Mexico Rugby League is set to kick off it’s 2018 season with a Rugby League Sixes competition in the municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli next March.

Located in the Greater Mexico City metropolitan area, in the State of Mexico, Cuautitlán Izcalli will host the event on Saturday, March 18.

The sixes tournament is set to feature a number of existing Rugby League clubs based around Mexico City with invitations extended to other sporting clubs from around the region.

The Mexico Rugby League aims to run competitions at the Open Age Men’s, Women’s levels, plus a number of Junior age groups.

The Sixes is part of an extended Rugby League program planned for Mexico in 2018, which is set to feature multiple Rugby League Nines events and a Domestic Club competition.

Mexico also plans to play it’s first International game in season 2018.
