The South East Asian nation of Cambodia is one of the latest countries to take up interest in Rugby League, with the recently formed Cambodia Rugby League running a series of training sessions around Phnom Penh.

Formed in late 2016, the Cambodian Rugby League has been working with the Phnom Penh Social Rugby club, also known as the Rahus, and the Gardus Rugby club in west Phnom Penh to introduce the code over the month of March.

Interest in the sport has been positive, with the Cambodia Rugby League hopeful of hosting Rugby League matches later in the year.

Cambodia joins the likes of Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong and the Philippines as nations within the region establishing domestic competitions and structures.
