The live-stream is a result of a partnership between Hawaii based Grand Pacific Events and Sportsta.tv, Australia’s premiere interactive digital sports media platform. The news of the first ever event live-stream comes as the Ohana Cup expands from a one day event to a two day extravaganza at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Friday, August 19th will feature a cultural festival, team meet and greet and a star-studded concert with the complete slate of Rugby League matches scheduled for Saturday, August 20th.

“It’s incredible to see how much this event has grown over the years,” said Kelly McGill, Grand Pacific Events President. “Thanks to Sportsta and the rest of our sponsors the Ohana Cup’s reach is now world-wide.”

“The partnership between the 2016 Western Union Ohana Cup and Sportsta makes perfect sense with relation to what our company is striving to do,” said Dave Madelly, Chief Marketing Officer with Sportsta. “Our unique interactive digital sports media platform gives fans more of what they want to see either from their favorite athlete or sporting event – so everyone wins.”

The 2016 Western Union Ohana Cup, A Rugby League Festival presented by the Hawaii Tourism Authority will be held Friday and Saturday, August 19 – 20, 2016, at Aloha Stadium.

The two-day event begins with a Polynesian Cultural Festival and a not-to-be missed pre-game concert featuring Willie K., Kapena, Nesian Nine and Josh Tatofi. This will be followed-up by non-stop International Rugby League action with Team Tonga battling Samoa, Fiji taking on Canada and the New South Wales (Australia) Police going up against Oahu’s own Hawaii Chiefs.

The sixth annual Western Union Ohana Cup, A Rugby League Festival is a Grand Pacific Events production and is made possible by the generous sponsorship of Western Union and the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

In addition, a portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit R.E.A.C.H. (Resources for Enrichment, Athletics, Culture, and Health) an initiative created by Hawaii’s Lieutenant Governor Shan Tsutsui.

ESPN 1420 AM will again broadcast live the main slate of games on August 20, 2016 as well as streaming live audio of each of the matches via their website at: www.espn1420am.com.
