A last round win over the Samut Prakan Roosters has helped the Asoke Bangkok Eels claim the inaugural Thailand Rugby League Minor Premiership and head into the tournament Grand Final as the team to beat.

Heading into the sixth and final round of the 2014 Thailand Rugby League National Premiership, both the Asoke Bangkok Eels and Pattaya Sharks were in the running to claim top spot, with the Sharks holding a superior for and against, despite having one less win.

A 36 – 18 win by the Sharks over the Lat Phrao Bangkok Bulldogs only put further pressure on the Eels to perform, however the team clearly highlighted why they were one of the form teams in the competition, easily defeating the Roosters 26 – 8 at Srinkharinwirot Rugby Stadium in Bangkok.

The Asoke Bangkok Eels and Pattaya Sharks will now face each other in the inaugural Thailand Rugby League Grand Final at Boonyachinda Stadium on Saturday, December 13.
